Agenda:
The agenda as published on the conference program was followed with a minor modification.
15:00-15:30 the meeting was interrupted in order to present the SI view on information architecture in the TOGAF workgroup meeting. To compensate the afternoon session was resumed at 13:45 instead of 14:00.

Arnold gave an overview of current and recent activities and achievements of the SI working group and the UDEF project. During this weeks board meeting UDEF 1.02 was approved.

Ron presented current status of the vendor challenge. He pointed out that interest was big enough, but he had not been successful in bringing parties to a common conference call. It turns out that sufficient complementarity in offers is available to make the challenge fly. It was agreed that next steps would be
  1. To ask Kalido to setup a UDEF registry based on UDEF 1.02 as offered
  2. To ask each interested party that has been showed willingness to participate to connect to this UDEF registry
  3. To setup a scenario for demonstration at San Francisco
  4. To speed up the initiative as time is pressing
Ron will continue to lead this initiative.

The SOA workgroup acknowledges the need for a semantic layer in web 2.0 but has no concrete suggestions on how to increase visibility and attractiveness of SI workgroup participation on conferences and in general.

Arnold gave an overview of UDEF internationalisation and registry switching:
  • Dutch UDEF review is continuing and strives to be completed before San Francisco.
  • German UDEF hopes to be able to reach a critical mass of participants before San Francisco conference. Translation is almost completed (95%)
  • French UDEF is launched and will be lead by Patrice Duboe (Capgemini Fr)
  • A proposal for multilingual version management was discussed and will be published on the UDEF website for broader discussion
  • The proposal for a UDEF-registry switching architecture and associated governance was discussed and will be published on the UDEF website for broader discussion
The draft roadmaps in generic Open Group format as requested by the board for SI in general and for UDEF in more detail were discussed, adjusted and published on the respective websites. Both now accurately describe the status of past and present activities. Open Group staff (Chris Harding) will be asked to complete and maintain the workpackage specific pages, so as to utilize members' resources for the fulfillment of the described activities.
