Semantic Interoperability WG Agenda, Barcelona, Spain, 26 January 2006

The Semantic Interoperability Working Group will meet from 11:00 to 12:30 on Thursday 27 January 2006 in Barcelona, Spain. This meeting will follow the Semantic Interoperability stream of the Architecture Practitioners Conference as part of The Open Group conference week.

This initial meeting of the Semantic Interoperability Working Group will be an opportunity to map out the subject area and consider possible lines of action to establish this important topic within The Open Group.

11:00 Welcome and Introductions
11:10 Semantic Interoperability and The Open Group
A review of existing relevant Open Group work, focusing on:
  • The Houston Semantic Interoperability conference;
  • The UDEF Forum and Interest Group; and
  • The Semantic component of Enterprise Architecture, particularly in relation to SOA.
11:30 Semantics and Enterprise Architecture
Group discussion, including:
  • Semantically-Driven IT Architecture;
  • Semantics and Enterprise Information Architecture;
12:15 Next Steps
Planning how the Working Group should move forward.
