SOA/TOGAF Practical Guide

SOA is an emerging architectural style that needs to be explicitly supported by TOGAF. As it is an architectural style, that support is best provided through style-specific adjustments to TOGAF, to enable a trained TOGAF practitioner to use TOGAF 8 and the SOA adjustments 'out of the box' to develop a service-oriented architecture.

The project is bounded by the current version of TOGAF 8. The intent is to provide 'preliminary phase adjustments' to TOGAF. The focus will be on phases A-D of the TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM), providing the required views, attributes, artefacts, and process change descriptions. The work effort and scope will be adjusted to capture other SOA Working Group and Architecture Forum projects that overlap. Guiding principles will be that the outputs will be 'good enough' and should give practical help to an architecture practitioner.
