Title: SOA at The Open Group Conference in Lisbon
Description:

The Open Group conference Enterprise Architecture and Business Innovation in Lisbon, Portugal in the week of 23 October 2006 included:

  • A Conference Stream on SOA. This stream had presentations from organizations using SOA, companies providing SOA solutions, and industry experts, on:
    • SOA Scalability;
    • SOA Case Studies,
    • How to Architect SOA,
    • SOA Modeling and Maturity Assessment,
    • SOA Governance and
    • The activities of The Open Group and other bodies in developing standards and best practices for SOA.
    In addition, there was a workshop session to progress the development of a formal ontology for SOA.
  • A meeting of the SOA Working Group, in which the Group reviewed its whole work program and had specific sessions on:
    • SOA Governance,
    • SOA Maturity Modelng,
    • SOA and the Virtual Enterprise, and
    • Requirements for End Point Security and Architectures for De-Perimeterization (jointly with The Open Group's Security Forum).
