Title: SOA at The Open Group Conference in San Diego
Description:

The Open Group Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference in San Diego, CA in the week of 29 January 2007 included:

  • An intensive face-to-face meeting of the Working Group's SOA Governance project team;
  • A Plenary Meeting with a focus on SOA;
  • A Conference Stream on SOA. This stream had presentations from organizations using SOA, companies providing SOA solutions, and industry experts, on:
    • Deployment of SOA in the Enterprise,
    • SOA Performance Management,
    • Frameworks and Models for SOA,
    • SOA and Web 2.0,
    • SOA and BPM,
    • service-Oriented Network Architecture,
    • SOA Governance and
    • The activities of The Open Group and other bodies in developing standards and best practices for SOA.
  • A meeting of the SOA Working Group, in which the Group reviewed its whole work program and had specific sessions on:
    • SOA ReferenceArchitecture,
    • Security Issues in SOA (jointly with The Open Group's Security Forum),
    • SOA Maturity Model,
    • A Practical Guide to DEveloping SOA using TOGAF (jointly with The Open Group's Architecture Forum),
    • SOA Governance,
    • Service-Oriented Infrastructure,
    • SOA Ontology, and
    • Next Steps for the Working Group.
