On Monday morning during the Plenary there was a live streamed session on The Open Group Trusted Technology Forum, with Forum Director Sally Long presenting an overview of the new Open Trusted Technology Provide™ Standard (O-TTPS) Accreditation Program, and announcing the public launch of the program
Following the overview, there was a panel discussion with some of the OTTF members that was facilitated by Allen Brown, President and CEO of The Open Group. Panelists were: Andras Szakal (IBM), Edna Conway (Cisco), Joanne Woytek (NASA), Fiona Pattinson (atsec information security), and Erin Conner (EWA-Canada). Each gave a bit more information on the program along with a positive testimonial.
It was noted that the O-TTPS Accreditation Program, operated by The Open Group as the Accreditation Authority, is the first of its kind in that it addresses both product integrity and supply chain security – helping to assure that organizations are mitigating the risk of maliciously tainted and counterfeit products by conforming to the Open Trusted Technology Provider™ Standard (O-TTPS).
It was also announced that IBM is the first company to earn their accreditation, which they achieved for their Application Infrastructure and Middleware (AIM) Software Business Division. A plaque with the O-TTPS Accreditation Certificate was awarded to IBM for that achievement.
The panel noted that in assessing conformance to the standard, the accreditation program will be utilizing existing third-party assessor organizations who have already been certified as evaluators to one of the relevant ISO standards and who have additionally passed the O-TTPS Assessor Examination in order to assure they understand the standard, the assessment procedures, the accreditation policy, and other elements related specifically to the O-TTPS Accreditation Program.
Plaques were also presented to atsec information security and EWA-Canada for being the first O-TTPS Recognized Assessor companies
Organizations can download the O-TTPS v1.0 and the O-TTPS Accreditation Policy from the Trusted Technology subject area in The Open Group Bookstore
