This document specifies the Application Program Interface (API) for X/Open-compliant relational database management systems. It is closely based on ISO 9075:1992: International Standard for the Database Language (SQL) and encompasses the features known as 'Transitional SQL' in NIST FIPS 127-2. In addition, it defines some extensions to the International Standard based on current implementations.
