Guarantee
When a vendor signs a legal agreement, they are making
three simple statements:
The product works
This means that the product conforms to the specification. It
is an absolute guarantee made by the vendor who "warrants and represents"
that each product registered is conformant in a legal agreement called
a Trademark Licence Agreement [TMLA].
The product will continue to work
Throughout its life a registered product is guaranteed to remain
conformant. So, each fix, performance improvement, functional enhancement
made to the product, the vendor guarantees that conformance with the specification
is maintained.
If there is a problem it will be fixed in a prescribed timescale
Despite this absolute guarantee, in the real world problems may
arise from time to time. What is needed in this case is the non-conformance
corrected speedily. The vendor guarantees that if there is a non-conformance
it will be corrected in a timely manner.
Quality Mark
Vendors apply the Open Brand to their products as a clear badge of
their commitment to product quality, support and customer value.
It is a mark that indicates confidence in the vendors ability to stand
behind their registered products and provide a commitment to buyers.
