• Throughput nears C code

  • Close enough to "not matter anymore"
  • All Stage 2 compilers remove range checks

• GC Pause times

• Startup - ~secs to 1-2 minutes

  • Worse for Stage 2 compilers
  • But they hit a higher throughput

• Footprint - ~4meg to ~64meg

  • Real space/speed tradeoff
