Presentation

Understanding the role of Security on SOA and Cloud Computing: a
reference model, governance, issues and best practices.

This presentation focuses on security issues associated with the future and current state SOAs. SOA is evolving into a more mature paradigm dealing with the creation of Service Oriented Enterprises that support loosely coupled organizations using services as their backbone. The evolution of virtualization and software as a service (SAAS), has given rise to the concepts of service oriented infrastructure, cloud computing and shared services - features of SOA 2.0/ 3.0. Actionable implementations are contingent on an acceptable SOA security model, where organizations need to understand the impact of security on the implementation, governance and delivery issues associated with SOA.

In this ppresentation we shall review the features of SOA 2.0 and 3.0, the associated elements (SOE, SOI, Cloud Computing, SAAS and Shared Services) and their impact on security, provide a reference model for SOA Security, governance aspects of SOA Security, outline key issues associated with SOA and cloud computing security, and best practices to mitigate them.
