Introduction

We provide downloadable versions of development test suites based on the test suites used in the WAP Certification Program. These test suites have a number of features that distinguish them from those used in Certification - in particular, development enhancements to the test engine enabling simpler product debugging.

• Test engineers can reuse their knowledge on a range of Open Group testing services test suites, as each release uses the same test engine

• Unlimited on-site users per site enables the testing of different areas by different teams in the same location
• Use of Testing Services for product testing throughout the development life-cycle doubles as pre-Certification testing, ensuring that test engineers are prepared for the Certification tests and reducing the time spent Certifying products
• Use of the testing service enables product testing throughout the development life-cycle, thereby improving product quality

The License

Test suites are available under a 10-year single site license. This license allows the customer to install multiple versions of the test suite(s) on one site, and to create as many accounts as they wish. The test suite(s) may only be used by onsite employees. The software will include a binary executable of the test harness and source code for the tests provided.

Redistribution of the software is not permitted. Additional single site licenses will be available at a reduced cost, each allowing the installation of unlimited accounts.

The Open Group will provide Support and Maintenance for the downloaded software.

Confidentiality

We will keep the identity of our customers and any information divulged to us, including test results on our server, confidential. We are happy to set up NDAs to further ensure this. If you have any questions, please contact TS-Help.

Restrictions

These agreements contain some restrictions on what can and cannot be stated. As a result of this, the following restrictions apply:-

• although the test suites are based on The Open Group test suites, you may make no public statements concerning their use or results obtained from them, and in particular cannot make any claim to have "passed" them.
• you accept that only the official WAP Certification test suites maintained by The Open Group may be used for certification.
• you accept that the test suite may contain extensions and modifications beyond the official WAP certification tests.
• you accept that The Open Group makes no claim that the results of using the test suite will be the same as those produced by the official WAP certification test suites.
