System Architect, the leading Enterprise Architecture tool, is fully certified for TOGAF 8 support. System Architect is renowned for its ability to help you visualize, analyze, and communicate an enterprise architecture, from which you can make intelligent strategic decisions. System Architect supports all of the modeling notations that TOGAF 8 calls for, including UML, BPMN, IDEF, DoDAF, and relational data modeling within a multi-user, scalable enterprise repository built on SQL Server 2005 or Oracle 10G. System Architect has a tight integration with DOORS, Telelogic's leading requirements management tool. This gives you best-of-breed solutions for requirements-driven enterprise architecture efforts prescribing to the TOGAF method.
System Architect provides powerful enterprise architecture features that enable you to perform the TOGAF method -- its Explorer diagram, for example, enables you to run reports against the integrated enterprise architecture information, so you can graphically see cause-effect relationships. You can use the Explorer diagram to automatically, visually see what business processes will be affected by a change to an operating system on a particular server, and furthermore what requirements, stored in DOORS, will be affected. Analytics enable you to run various algorithms against the information in your models, and visually indicate the results on your diagrams and matrices in the tool and in generated websites of the architecture information. An add-on tool called SA/Publisher is used to publish websites based on SQL-based queries of the repository using System Architect’s reporting language.
System Architect's sister tool, System Architect/XT, enables you to have your extended team (XT) view, add to, or modify repository information from remote locations via any browser. As long as they are securely logged on, users anywhere in the world can browse repository information in real time, run SQL-based query reports to ask business questions of the repository information, do Google-esque searches, view dashboard analysis reports, add information to the repository, and most importantly, understand what is going on in the organization's architecture so that decisions can be made based on substantive real-time information.
