UDEF Pilot Presentations and Demonstrations

The UDEF Forum proposes to develop an Emergency Response Pilot for the US Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice. The purpose of this pilot is to demonstrate how the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) could enable a disaster response team to find needed resources available within industry inventories on an ad hoc basis. See the current Pilot Description.

At The Open Group Conference in Houston on 20 October2005, Ron Schuldt, UDEF Forum Chair, gave a presentation that included an Introduction to the Pilot, and there were demonstrations and presentations on the implementation of the Pilot using commercial off-the-shelf products from Al Slater of Safyre Solutions and Loren Osborn of Unicorn.

The introduction was filmed using a video camera, and the slides and audio for the vendor presentations and demonstrations were captured in video files from the conference projection system. The resulting video is available from this page in two formats: AVI and Quicktime (.MOV). You can view or download them using the links below (right-click and save file to download).
