The UDEF Forum proposes to develop an Emergency Response Pilot for the US Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice. The purpose of this pilot is to demonstrate how the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) could enable a disaster response team to find needed resources available within industry inventories on an ad hoc basis. Open Group Conference in Houston on 20 October2005,
Ron Schuldt, UDEF Forum Chair, gave a presentation that included an
Introduction to the Pilot, and there were demonstrations and presentations
on the implementation of the Pilot using commercial off-the-shelf
products from Al Slater of Safyre Solutions and Loren Osborn of Unicorn.
The introduction was filmed using a video camera,
and the slides and audio for the vendor presentations and demonstrations
were captured in video files from the conference projection system.
