IMAP Voice

IMAP Voice is a mailing list for the discussion of IMAP4 extensions for binary and streaming media. Activities that are currently being discussed on the list include:

- Binary messages or message parts.

- Transfer to clients other than the IMAP client, or from servers other than the IMAP server.

- Streaming media attachments.

- Server-side conversion and transcoding.

- Integration of user-level message length indicators.

The initial goal of IMAP Voice is to write drafts for IMAP4 extensions where appropriate, and to discuss these drafts and other ideas at a BOF at the next IETF conference.

IMAP Voice is a Working Group of the IETF.
