ICSWAP2_1 (released 10th December 2004)

Enhancements over previous version

Once an ICS has been uploaded to the CA server for certification purposes it is prevented from being loaded into the ICS Editor. The agreement and ICS Data will have been saved in html files as part of the submission process. The ICS is also preserved as read only .csw file. The ICS Editor will now detect that the user is attempting to load a submitted ICS and give the user the option of copying its contents as the basis for another ICS and certification submission. The ICS agreements and ICS Data html files are also now stored as read only files.

The html Validation reports are now stored in .icstemp directory.

Extra validation is performed when reading in the data when opening a saved ICS file. Any corruption in the comma separated data is detected, reported and the open operation then aborted.

The validation report has been updated to show the ICS Editor version.

It is only possible to upload an ICS for a WAP2 Client and (added to this release) a WAP2 Server to be used for the RefPool.

PR0014 - WML1, WML2 and XHTMLMP specification optionality

  • An additional SCR item has been created WML1-* (Support for WML1 backwards compatibility) to allow omission of the WML1 specification (WAP-191-WML-20000219-a). All dependency notation has been updated to use WML1-* where previously WML1:MCF was used. The dependency for WML1-* is thus WML1:MCF to ensure all mandatory SCR items are selected from the WML1 specification when WML1 backwards compatibility is supported.
  • An additional SCR item has been created WML2-* (Support for textual form of WML2) to allow omission of the WML2 specification (WAP-238-WML-20010911-a). All dependency notation has been updated to use WML2-* where previously WML2:MCF was used. The dependency for WML2-* is thus WML2:MCF to ensure all mandatory SCR items are selected from the WML2 specification when the textual form of WML2 is supported.
  • An additional SCR item has been created XHTMLMP-* (Supports the XHTML Mobile Profile) to allow omission of the XHTMLMP specification (WAP-277-XHTMLMP-20011029-a). All dependency notation has been updated to use XHTMLMP-* where previously XHTMLMP:MCF was used. The dependency for XHTMLMP-* is thus XHTMLMP:MCF to ensure all mandatory SCR items are selected from the XHTMLMP specification when support of the XHTML Mobile Profile is required.

PR0015 - TCP/IP and W-HTTP specification optionality

  • An additional SCR item has been created TCP-C-* (Supports the Wireless Profiled TCP Specification) to allow omission of the Wireless Profiled TCP specification (WAP-225-TCP-20010331-a). All dependency notation has been updated to use TCP-C-* where previously TCP:MCF was used. The dependency for TCP-C-* is thus TCP-C-001 AND TCP-C-006 AND TCP-C-009 to ensure all mandatory SCR items are selected from the TCP specification when support of the Wireless Profiled TCP specification is required.
  • An additional SCR item has been created HTTP-* (Supports the Wireless Profiled HTTP Specification) to allow omission of the W-HTTP specification (WAP-229-HTTP-20010329-a). All dependency notation has been updated to use HTTP-* where previously HTTP:MCF was used. The dependency for HTTP-* is thus HTTP-CLT-C-001 to ensure this mandatory SCR item is selected when support of the Wireless Profiled HTTP specification is required.

ICSWAP2_0 (released 8th March 2004)

The ICS Editor now requires the use of JRE version 1.4.2. However, to ease this transistion from 1.3 the ICS Editor will still make use of the deprecated FocusManager class. Note the focus management will be reimplemented in a future release (ICSWAP2_2) to make use the new 1.4 classes.

You will need to obtain a licence file from the Open Group for the WAP2 ICS Editor to operate. When you have received this file, store it alongside the ICS Editor .jar file.

Details of the PRs can be found at http://www.opengroup.org:8000/wap2/publicpr/PRSummary.

ICS_B860_01 (released 30th June 2003)

The ICS Editor allows automatic revision of the ICS templates. Revisions of ICS templates can add, remove or modify the data associated with the SCR items. The ICS Editor will load in existing ICS files and create new files based on the new revisions of templates. The Editor attempts to copy over the selection states of optional SCR items from the loaded file into the new template. The newly populated template then becomes the loaded file.

Using the ICS Editor "open ICS" feature, the user loads in the selected ICS File (wcsv). The Editor loads in the latest template consistent with the header information of the loaded ICS File and copies over the data. An html report is generated detailing :-

  • The version of the template on which the opened ICS file was based.
  • The version of new ICS template.
  • SCR Items available in the opened ICS file, which, have been withdrawn from latest ICS template.
  • SCR Items available in the latest ICS template, which, have been added since the creation of the opened ICS file.
  • SCR Items set to selected in the opened ICS file and transferred to selected in the latest ICS template.
  • SCR Items set to selected in the opened ICS file, but, not transferred to selected in the latest ICS template.
Since the ICS Editor is not used for certification the following features (found in the OMA versions of the tool) will be removed.
  • Display of certification/refpool agreements
  • Creating ICS application/registration details and IXIT information.
  • Uploading the ICS to the certification system, including setting up a proxy
  • Notification from server of new version availability
  • The ability to select the ICS type, that is certification or refpool
  • The display of test mappings in the SCR view
  • As with June 2000 WTA SCR items have been omitted from the WAP2 templates.

Baseline Specs

The WAP Specifications from where the SCR data has been extracted can be viewed in the SCR details view corresponding to each SCR item.
