Jonathan Cain is an accomplished engineer, innovator, and business leader at RTX. At Raytheon, an RTX business, his various roles have included Integrated Product Team Lead, Cross Product Team Lead, Principal Investigator, Section Lead, and Staff Technologist. He is a Level 5 Raytheon Certified Program Manager, an RTX Certified Architect, and he is Raytheon’s 2025 Innovator of the Year.
Jonathan is the co-lead of the Raytheon Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) Center of Excellence and the RTX Open Systems Architecture Community of Practice, where he oversees budget, strategy, personnel, and advocacy for MOSA at Raytheon and RTX. This includes support of all external OSA/GRA standards development, proposals and capture management, program and engineering execution, portfolio financial analysis, and business and technical education programs. Prior to assuming these leadership roles, he was a technical Subject Matter Expert for Sensor Open Systems Architecture® (SOSA®) and the Weapons Open Systems Architecture (WOSA). Jonathan has authored numerous internal and external white papers, participated in several TIMs, symposiums, and panel sessions, and he has strong network within the broader MOSA community. He is the current Vice Chair of the SOSA Steering Committee.
