Austin Group Minutes of the 24 Apr Teleconference Austin-167 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. April 25, 2003 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Ulrich Drepper Don Cragun , Sun, PASC OR Nick Stoughton, USENIX Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR The call picked up at the aardvark at http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/finaltext/ XSH --- XSH ERN 15 A/M unspecified rather than impl-defined XSH ERN 72 Should the behavior be left unspecified? Left open for further investigation XSH ERN 76 Accept XSH ERN 77,81 and 82 need further discussion and input on (Dave B?) XSH ERN 78 Agree in the concept and need to wordsmith the details Proposed wording for consideration next time: If the buffer pointed to by /list/ or the aiocb structures pointed to by the elements of the array /list/ become illegal addresses before all asynchronous I/O completed and, if necessary, the notification is sent, then the behavior is undefined. If the buffers pointed to by the /aio_buf/ member of the aiocb structure pointed to by the elements of the array /list/ become illegal addresses prior to the asynchronous I/O associated with that aiocb structure being completed, the behavior is undefined. What we tried to capture is that /list/ and all aiocb structures must remain valid until everything is done, but the buffers used for the I/O can become invalid right after the specific aio request is finished. XSH ERN 79 accept Next meeting ------------ The next meeting is proposed to be May 8 at the regular timeslot. The main topic for the next meeting is to brainstorm the scope for TC2 and then if any time remains to pick up at XSH before looping back to XBD. Andrew will refill the aardvark hopper prior to the next meeting. Andrew will update the aardvark reports on the web site with the latest information including new aardvark subsequently received.
