Austin/280r1 is the latest notes arising from SD5 and is frozen a new document will be started for new issues arising from SD5. ACTION AI-2006-04-01: Nick Stoughton/Andrew Josey to send reports to SC22 prior to the Sep 2006 SC22 Plenary (due date: July 2006) STATUS: OPEN PASC ---- Andrew has submitted the PAR and criteria on May 30, we are now awaiting the SEC to commence a ballot. (Don has completed an action to speak with Lowell and we hope this will happen very shortly). Once approved by the SEC we should also submit this to ISO SC22 for information. Issues with Austin 280r1 (notes arising from SD5) ------------------------------------------------- http://www.opengroup.org/austin/docs/austin_280r1.txt SD5 XSH ERN 120 Accept as marked below: Add to Application Usage XSH page 1261: The conceptual model for scheduling semantics in this standard defines a set of thread lists. This set of thread lists is always present regardless of the scheduling options supported by the system. On a system where the Process Scheduling option is not supported portable applications should not make any assumptions regarding whether threads from other processes will be on the same thread list. Add to latest notes arising from SD5 document part 2, (Austin/302) Aardvark Defect report processing: ----------------------------------- http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/ XBD ERN 70 time.h Accept Run this down the interps track. Interpretation: ----------------- The standards states the requirements for functions to be supported in time.h, and conforming implementations must conform to this. However, concerns have been raised about this which are being referred to the sponsor. Rationale: ----------- Since these functions are dependent on timers they should require the TMR option always. Notes to the Editor for a future revision (not part of this interpretation): --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make change as proposed in the ERN. XBD ERN 69 fenv.h Accept Add to SD5 and notes arising document. XBD ERN 68 XBD limits.h tracing limits OPEN Fwd to SSWG-RT (Andrew has completed the action) XSH (XCU) ERN 130 mv synopsis Accept Add to SD5 (this is really a bug in XCU) but had the wrong subject line XSH ERN 131 namespace for _POSIX_C_SOURCE Reject The current wording is intended. The XSI option is just another option, so in the absence of _XOPEN_SOURCE, an implementation may make the symbols available under _POSIX_C_SOURCE. XSH ERN 132 %M for fscanf OPEN This is invention, but arises from the LSB conflicts. Leave open, need to work on the wording, including fwscanf specifics before we can move forward Action 2006-06-01: Andrew to work out the full set of changes for recirculation for XSH ERN 132 XSH ERN 133 open and implementation added flags OPEN Left open since we need specific wording XSH ERN 134 open O_SYNC Accept Run this down the interpretations track. Interpretation: ----------------- The standards states the requirements for the open function and O_SYNC, and conforming implementations must conform to this. However, concerns have been raised about this which are being referred to the sponsor. Rationale: ----------- Its agreed that an error with merging standards has occurred. Notes to the Editor for a future revision (not part of this interpretation): --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Make change as proposed in the ERN. XSH ERN 135 pthread_mutexattr_getprotocol OPEN Need to forward to the SSWG-RT Next Steps ----------- Andrew will update the aardvark reports with the latest inbound defect reports.
