Minutes of the 12 February 2009 Teleconference Austin-447 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. February 17 , 2009 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Don Cragun, PASC OR Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC OR Geoff Clare, The Open Group Larry Dwyer, HP Ulrich Drepper, Red Hat Mats Wichmann, Intel Roger Marquis Tom Honermann, Oracle * Bugzilla The previous meeting was to consider moving the bug reporting from aardvark to Bugzilla. Those who attended the meeting concluded that we do need to move in that direction. The next step is to define the workflow, from when an aardvark report is opened to closing it, including the fork to become an interpretation. Mark agreed to take an action to generate a workflow. * Aardvark We picked up on the aardvark reports, which are located at http://www.opengroup.org/austin/aardvark/latest/ * 2008 aardvarks Andrew updated the defect reports during the call. XSHbug3 ERN 15 Accept as Marked We rediscussed the item. Last time we had agreed that a future revision should mandate posix_spawn() and add that to the list of async-signal-safe functions. However concerns have now been raised about whether posix_spawn() can be used. We agreed not to progress an interpretation, and noted in the aardvark that there was no consensus on the recommendations for a future direction. XSHbug3 ERN 20 fscanf OPEN Nick is progressing a proposal with WG14. This is left open for now. XSHbug3 ERN 23 ungetc Accept XSHbug3 ERN 24 strtod Accept XSHbug3 ERN 25 timer_getoverrun Reject This aardvark request was rejected since time_getoverrun() is only defined if the expiration causes signals to be generated. timer_setoverrun() reports the number of signals not generated because of overruns. When threads are used instead of signals, a thread will be created for each event, independent of whether prior threads handling these events have started or completed. XCUbug2 ERN 185 more -e Accept Send down the interps track . The standard is unclear on this issue, and no conformance distinction can be made between alternative implementations based on this. This is being referred to the sponsor.
