Minutes of the 27th August 2009 Teleconference Austin-464 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. August 28 , 2009 Attendees Andrew Josey, The Open Group Don Cragun, PASC OR Geoff Clare, The Open Group Mark Brown, IBM, TOG OR Nick Stoughton, USENIX, ISO/IEC OR Ulrich Drepper, Red Hat Andrew corrected last weeks minutes to show that Mark was not present. Andrew reported during the meeting that he had received the final ISO edition proof and approved the covers. We did a spot check on the page and line numbers and verified that covers aside they are in synchronization with the IEEE and Open Group edition. We picked up the defect report review at Mantis bug #74 http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=74 This was discussed, including looking at Geoff's comments in mail seq 12688. Don will update the wording and then close #74, he will the duplicate items 99 and 100 to this item. # 133 dlerror() missing tab stop in example Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=133 # 134 description of /dev/null Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=134 # 135 Out of date text predates O_SEARCH Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=135 # 136 ln -s symlink Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=136 # 137 tmpnam Accept as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=137 It was felt that this was a test suite issue, but that an interpretation should be raised to record the issue. Interps track: Standard is clear, standard is right. "Implementation defined" permits the implementation to use any appropriate means to select an alternative directory, including selecting one entry from a list. The standards developers do not see any need to change the current wording; indeed, the proposed change suggests that an implementation might want to use multiple directories at the same time, which is not the intent. The implementation may pick one of a potentially infinite set of accessible directories. Some editorials were noted for TC1: Add mkdtemp() and mkstemp() to the See Also list. In the example (issue 7 lines 66534-66535) make the "directory" and "fileprefix" variables const. const char *directory = "/tmp"; const char *fileprefix = "file"; # 138 errno indeterminate in sem_timedwait() example Accept as marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=138 It was agreed that we now have enough items in the interpretations queue to start down the interpretations track. Action: Andrew kick off some interps Next Steps ---------- The next call will be on Sep 17 at 16:00 UK time/08:00 Pacific to carry on with the defect reports http://austingroupbugs.net See the calendar for the list of dialup numbers.
