Some additional comments had been received, which require some further discussion with David Korn and Chet Ramey. Bug 0000293: restricting readdir normalization of filenames Accepted as Marked http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=293 Geoff had made some changes to split the changes between this bug and bug 291. We accepted the changes that Geoff had made to the Notes to the Editor. These are now both free to finalize as interpretations, no additional time is required since there is no change to the notes to the editors, just moving between bugs. Bug 000327: time_t should be integral Accepted as Marked. http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=327 There was an issue raised regarding the wording of the proposed interpretation (see mail seq 14652). Don had proposed some alternate wording, which was accepted. This is now free to progress down the interpretations track. Andrew will look for the latest set of interpretation candidates to start their 30 days review cycle. Bug 0000334: uselocale() error handling Accept http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=334 This item is tagged for TC1-2008 It was also noted that there are related changes in another bug, bug 283 and this will be noted in the bug. Bug 0000335: semget() and semop() examples do not initialize semval OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=335 There is a preference for option 2. We would need to enumerate the set of detailed changes before being to able to accept the change for a future revision.. Action: Andrew to contact Garrett Cooper of Cisco. Add him to the Base WG associates so he can access the PDF (CLOSED) Bug 0000340: one escape sequence does not represent a non-graphic character Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=340 This item is tagged for TC1-2008 Bug 0000341: Incorrect C constant given for Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=341 This item is tagged for TC1-2008 Bug 0000342: Incorrect C constant given for Accepted http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=342 This item is tagged for TC1-2008 Bug 0000331: Add 'x' mode to fopen and freopen to force O_EXCL (and declare that fdopen ignores 'x') OPEN http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=331 WG14 is also working on this topic. There is some concern that making the change now might be premature as we do not want to introduce a potential conflict with ISO C. The recommendation for the moment is to defer action until the C committee completes its work. A reference to the WG14 document is: http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg14/www/docs/n1516.pdf We have attached a c99 tag to this defect report.
