* General news

Andrew released the first committee draft last week for a four week
review shortly.  The 2008-TC2 project is available in mantis for
bug reporting.

The "All Pads" link on the main page goes to:

Richard has recently modified the code that generates that list to
sort by date in reverse order, so it should be easier to find the
current week's etherpad.

Bug 0000900: add qsort_r        OPEN

The consensus was that its a good idea to add the suggested interface.
The usual requirements regarding a sponsor for a new interface
apply.

Action: Open Group OR , to ask the Base WG if they wish to sponsor
the additional qsort interface proposed here.

Bug  0000901: reserve _POSIX* shell option namespace for future use        OPEN

The forward plan for this bug remains as before:

    Richard: file a new bug report with a concrete feature that
    would use the _POSIX* namespace (as motivation for reserving
    set -o _POSIX*)

    All: debate the proposed feature.  If it's something we want,
    then revisit bug #901.  If not, close bug #901.

We discussed the first bugnote in 918 and decided to handle it as a
separate bug since it will need an interpretation unrelated to the
defect that was reported in 918.  Action on Geoff to submit the new bug.

We also discussed the related issue raised on the reflector regarding
the widespread use of memset() to initialize structures that may
contain pointers, and we could see no reason why we should not require
null pointers to have an all-bits-zero representation in Issue 8.  This
should be submitted as another separate bug (although no action was
assigned).
