Austin Group Chair Report Austin-764 Page 1 of 1 Submitted by Andrew Josey, The Open Group. May 21, 2016 The Austin Common Standards Revision Group (CSRG) is a joint technical working group established to develop and maintain the core open systems interfaces that are the POSIX(R) 1003.1 (and former 1003.2) standards, ISO/IEC 9945 parts 1 to 4, and the core of the Single UNIX Specification. The joint technical working group that brings together the technical experts from ISO/IEC JTC 1, IEEE and The Open Group. The latest revision to the Austin Group specification was published in 2008, with the first technical corrigendum published in 2013. A second technical corrigendum has been in formal development since mid 2015 -- the P1003.1-2008/Cor 2 Project authorisation request was approved by IEEE on June 11 2015. The draft has now completing balloting at The Open Group and at IEEE. No ISO balloting is occurring as ISO has indicated they will accept the changes once the document is approved by IEEE, under the ISO/IEEE Partner Standards Development Organization (PSDO) Cooperation Agreement. The Open Group ballot closed May 17 with all those voting accepting the change request. A sanity review has been announced that starts on May 25 and closes on June 8. After the sanity review the draft will be submitted to The Open Group Governing Board for an email approval. At IEEE, the first recirculation ballot closed on May 16 2016, with results as follows: RESPONSE RATE: This ballot has met the 75% returned ballot requirement. 22 eligible people in this ballot group. 19 affirmative votes 1 total negative votes with comments 0 negative votes with new comments 0 negative votes without comments 1 abstention votes: (Lack of time: 1) 21 votes received = 95% returned 4% abstention APPROVAL RATE: The 75% affirmation requirement is being met. 19 affirmative votes 1 negative votes with comments 20 votes = 95% affirmative For the 1 negative vote, we have resolved the issue and the balloter confirmed by email that it is resolved. P1003.1-2008/Cor2 (C/PA) "IEEE Draft Standard for Information Technology - Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX(R)) - Corrigendum 2" will be reviewed by RevCom for its meeting 29 June 2016. The technical corrigendum document itself is a list of editorial changes to the 2008 edition of the standard, as corrected by TC1 (2013). A merged draft of the standard is also being prepared, the final stages of which are to update the change history. We anticipate approval of technical corrigendum 2 by IEEE and The Open Group at the end of June 2016. Respectfully submitted, Andrew Josey Austin Group Chair
