About the Event

Monday, April 17
Enterprise Architecture for Sustainability / The Digital Portfolio

One of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals is aimed specifically at industry and innovation, with the intention to: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation”. The UN’s vision is that such a goal can not only lead to a reduction in the significant carbon footprint of the IT industry, but will, itself, introduce and promote new technologies that can impact sustainability across all industries and contribute towards a much greener future.

This section of the event will focus upon the critical roles of the Enterprise Architect and technology standards, in aligning the strategy of the Portfolio of Digital Open Standards with the goals of increasing sustainability and reducing emissions. Whether your organization is an established enterprise, looking for digital transformation, or an entrepreneurial start-up looking to utilize a digital model from day one, the Portfolio of Digital Open Standards provides thought-leading guidance, no matter what your entry point, to competing in the digital economy.

Tuesday, April 18
a.m. - EA for  Sustainability / Introduction to the FACE™ Consortium [no fee session]

The Tuesday morning sessions will focus upon the wider issues of sustainable IT within the enterprise. Achieving a greener footprint is a critical element of any post-pandemic enterprise strategy. A more sustainable IT infrastructure will improve the Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) standards within an enterprise, as well as raising customer satisfaction and leading to a higher global brand profile for the enterprise.

The Open Group FACETM Consortium is a government, industry, and academia collaboration encouraging innovation in refining business processes and developing vendor-neutral open standards enabling software portability, reusability, and interoperability. This session introduces the FACE Consortium, describes the FACE ecosystem, provides examples of FACE adoption, and affords opportunities for questions and discussion. The Q & A portion will also focus on better understanding the unique needs of organizations from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and United Kingdom.

p.m. - Open Industry Standards / Modeling Dynamic Systems Workshop
The afternoon sessions will examine some of the transformation issues being faced, and the development and implementation of the digital open standards to address business, management, operational and governance issues, that are critical to their solution.

Dynamic systems are simple in concept and fun to model. For example to model sustainability you can start with 'carbon footprint', 'industrial waste' and 'energy use'. As an architect the technique of dynamic systems is directly applicable to other real problems like enterprise agility, resiliency and change impact.

Wednesday, April 19
a.m. - TOGAF® User Group: [No fee session]
The TOGAF® Standard, a standard of The Open Group, is the open Enterprise Architecture standard used by the world’s leading organizations to improve business efficiency. The TOGAF User Group will focus upon the TOGAF Series Guides that provide the how-to guidance on how to configure and, at times, extend the TOGAF Fundamental Content to suit a given context. There will be input and discussion from some of the key authors behind the TOGAF Series Guides.

OSDU™ Forum London Meeting 18th - 20th April
Value Realization Using the OSDU™ Data Platform
The Open Group OSDU™ Forum enables the Energy industry to develop transformational technology to support the world's changing Energy needs. Developed by over 230 member organizations, the OSDU Data Platform is an Open Source, standards-based and technology-agnostic data platform for the energy industry that stimulates innovation, industrializes data management, and reduces time to market for new solutions.

At The Open Group Summit you will hear from operators, vendors, and cloud service providers about their engagement and adoption of the OSDU Data Platform. Plenary presentations will examine areas such as:

  • Operator Perspectives
  • Vendor/Cloud Service Provider Perspectives
  • Application Interoperability
  • New Data Platform Opportunities Enabled by the OSDU Data Platform

There will also be an opportunity to see demonstrations from software vendors at the Partner Pavilion on Tuesday evening.

So whether you are an existing member of the OSDU Forum or are interested to find out more, we look forward to seeing you at The Open Group Summit in London.
