FACE™ Momentum Continues with Air Force TIM Event

Companies to demonstrate FACE™ certified products in Ohio

San Francisco, CA – March 09, 2017 – The Open Group Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Consortium and Infinite Dimensions Integration, Inc. are pleased to announce a ground breaking Air Force FACE™ Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM), to be held on March 28, 2017 at the Crown Plaza Dayton Hotel in Dayton, OH.

The event follows the launch of the FACE Conformance Program, the subsequent momentum of major organizations achieving FACE Conformance, and the recent procurement pull from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. It presents another opportunity for FACE Consortium members to showcase their efforts toward developing FACE certified and aligned products and tools that promote reusable war-fighting capabilities for the services.

The FACE™ Consortium formed in June 2010 as a government and industry partnership to define an open avionics environment for all military airborne platform types. It has since grown into an aviation-focused professional group made up of industry suppliers, customers and users. It provides a vendor-neutral forum for industry and government to work together to develop and consolidate the open standards, best practices, guidance documents and business strategy that promote acquisition of affordable software systems, innovation and rapid integration of portable capabilities across global defense programs, and higher efficiency to deploy capabilities.

Our hosts from Infinite Dimensions have put together a great line-up of speakers including a keynote by Mr. Robert Carl "Shof" Shofner, Deputy Director, Strategic Plans, Programs, Requirements, and Analyses, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command. Attendees will also hear presentations from industry and government, detailing the positive impact of FACE adoption for buyers, suppliers, integrators (end users), and business representatives, including both Business and Technical lessons learned.

The event will run throughout the day, with over 30 partners from industry and government showcasing examples of products and tools that are certified conformant to or are aligned with the FACE™ Technical Standard.
