    Q. How long have you been involved with The Open Group?

I have been involved with The Open Group for 15 Years (since 2011) engaging with its community and initiatives around enterprise architecture, open standards, interoperability, and emerging technology.

What I particularly value is the opportunity to collaborate beyond organizational boundaries. The challenges enterprises face today—AI adoption, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, distributed computing, cybersecurity, data, and increasingly Quantum Computing—cannot be addressed effectively through isolated technology choices. They require common frameworks, standards, and an ecosystem approach.

    Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?

As Chief Innovation Officer for CMT&S BG at TCS, I focus on identifying emerging technology shifts and translating them into architectures, engineering approaches, and innovation opportunities that can create meaningful value for enterprises.

My work spans DeepTech and emerging technologies including Generative and Agentic AI, Quantum Computing, Multi-Cloud, Multi-Edge, Enterprise Architecture, and Performance Engineering.

I have been working in technology, architecture, engineering, and innovation for 28 Years Over that period, one recurring lesson has been that successful innovation is not simply about adopting the newest technology. It is about connecting technology to business outcomes and creating architectures that are scalable, interoperable, secure, resilient, and sustainable.

    Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group and what does/will your involvement look like?

TCS operates across a highly diverse global technology landscape. Open standards and industry collaboration are therefore strategically important in helping enterprises reduce unnecessary complexity, improve interoperability, and accelerate innovation.

Participation in The Open Group and working groups provides an opportunity not only to learn from the ecosystem, but also to contribute our experience from solving complex, real-world enterprise challenges. Our involvement is centered on active collaboration—contributing perspectives, practices, architectures, and use cases; learning from other members; and helping advance frameworks and standards that can be practically adopted by enterprises. As emerging technologies such as AI, Quantum Computing, Cloud-to-Edge architectures, and autonomous systems mature, this collaborative approach becomes even more important.

    Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large?

Membership creates value at three levels. For me personally, it provides an opportunity to exchange ideas with architects, technologists, standards leaders, and industry practitioners who are addressing similar challenges from different perspectives.

For TCS, it enables us to contribute to and learn from an ecosystem developing open standards and frameworks that can improve interoperability, portability, architectural consistency, and technology adoption at enterprise scale.

For the broader industry, the value is even greater. Open standards provide a common language through which customers, technology providers, service providers, academia, and other ecosystem participants can collaborate. This helps reduce fragmentation and allows innovation to happen on top of shared foundations rather than repeatedly solving the same interoperability problems.

    Q. Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?

Technology ecosystems are becoming more distributed, heterogeneous, and interconnected. No single organization—or technology provider—can define the future architecture of the enterprise alone. Organizations that participate in The Open Group have an opportunity to move from being consumers of industry standards to becoming contributors to them. That distinction is important. Participation allows organizations to bring real-world requirements and implementation experience into the standards process, learn from peers, anticipate technology and architecture shifts, and help shape frameworks that the broader industry can use. Open standards become stronger when they reflect diverse perspectives and practical experience. The more organizations that actively contribute, the more relevant and valuable those standards become.

    Q. What are your hobbies?

I enjoy connecting with academia and share knowledge, solving puzzles, create new connections. I am also naturally curious about emerging technologies and enjoy exploring new ideas at the intersection of technology, science, architecture, and innovation.

    Q. What book are you currently reading?

I am currently reading Human-Agent Enterprise and writing a book on Quantum Security. I particularly enjoy books that challenge established thinking and offer new perspectives on technology, innovation, leadership, science, and the future.

    Q. What social networks do you belong to?

    Q. Any last thoughts?

We are entering a particularly exciting period in technology. AI is becoming increasingly agentic, computing is becoming more distributed from cloud to edge, and technologies such as Quantum Computing are beginning to move from research toward practical enterprise exploration. Yet the long-term impact of these technologies will depend on more than technological capability alone.

We need architectures that allow technologies to work together, standards that enable interoperability, and ecosystems that encourage organizations to collaborate rather than create new silos.

That is where communities such as The Open Group have an important role to play. By bringing together diverse organizations and perspectives around open standards and shared architectural foundations, we can help turn emerging technology into sustainable, enterprise-scale innovation.

For me, the opportunity is not simply to anticipate the future of technology—it is to collaborate with the community to help architect it.
