    Bio: I have worked in the industry for 25 years. My career has spanned Software engineering, program management, and systems engineering. At each step, I learned how to focus on solving customer problems in a proactive and collaborative manner. I hold a BS in Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences from Oregon State University, and a PMP certification.

    Q, How long have you been involved with The Open Group? 3 months

     

    Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it? I have been the Head of Systems Engineering for MilDef Inc for 1 year. I am responsible for being the bridge between customers and engineering for technical requirements, and I work with our sales, product,  and marketing teams to ensure we are staying on the cutting edge.

     

    Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group SOSA Consortium and what does/will your involvement look like? We joined the SOSA Consortium to stay up with the latest standards and trend in the industry. I look forward to joining some working groups and working with industry peers to ensure the open standards remain forward-looking and meet the needs of the military today and tomorrow.

     

    Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large

    Being a Member of The Open Group has given us a deeper understanding of the standard managed by the SOSA Consortium. Seeing how the committees work and being able to participate in the standards process is a huge benefit and an enlightening experience.

     

    Q. Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group

    To be at the forefront of evolving standards and to be able to help guide the future of our industry.

     

    Q. What are your hobbies? Hiking, travelling, and raising my twins

     The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufman, and Into the Storm: A Study in Command by Tom Clancy and General Fred Franks, Jr (Ret.)
