    Bio:

    Jonathan is Validere's SVP, Business Development & Strategy. Leading Validere's go-to-market efforts, he works closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape the company's strategic direction, particularly in expanding its reach into new market segments and use cases.

    With a career grounded in enterprise sales, Jonathan possesses a keen understanding of how to create high-value solutions that address customer needs and assist companies in growing their businesses. Prior to joining Validere, Jonathan had a highly successful 26-year career as an investment banker based in Toronto, New York and London. Leading client coverage teams across North America, Europe and Asia, he provided strategic guidance to a diverse portfolio of industries. Since 2018, his focus has been almost entirely on energy transition issues, advising major global corporations and investors on navigating this complex landscape.

    Jonathan holds a Joint LLB/MBA degree from York University, and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto.

    Q. How long have you been involved with The Open Group?

    Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?


    Validere is a trusted leader in emissions and operations management for highly emitting and operationally complex sectors. Our Emissions Management Software Platform empowers customers to seamlessly integrate operational and field data, enabling precise quantification and streamlined reporting of emissions. This comprehensive approach enhances compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes while supporting voluntary reporting, emissions reduction planning and other corporate initiatives. Founded in 2015, Validere continues to drive innovation in emissions management.

     

    Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group Open Footprint Forum and what does/will your involvement look like?

     Validere joined the Open Footprint Forum in August 2024, and we anticipate active involvement in both Forum events and specific Work Groups. Our primary focus will likely be contributing to Working Group 1 (Technical Implementation & Architecture) and Working Group 2 (Data Modeling & Data Architecture).

     

    Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large?


    As a thought leader in emissions management and environmental attributes software, Validere is committed to actively shaping industry standards. Our participation in OFP is crucial to both serving our customers and advancing the industry as a whole. We believe our rigorous software, designed for precise tracking and reporting of emissions data, will be invaluable in supporting OFP's standardization efforts.

    Addressing complex challenges like climate change demands collaborative action across the industry to achieve workable and unified solutions

    Cycling.  Reading.  Watching the Buffalo Bills and Chelsea FC
