Q. How long have you been involved with The Open Group?
I have been involved with The Open Group since 2009, when I began my career as a Business Architecture Manager at Banco de Credito del Peru (Credit Bank of Peru).
Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
After working for 23 years at IBM, 5 years at Microsoft, and 14 years at Banco de Credito del Peru, I took the initiative two years ago to establish my own company, called Strategic Transformation SAC.
Through this company, I provide consulting and training in Enterprise Architecture, business architecture, BIAN, TOGAF framework, business solution evaluation, and more.
This work occupies 100% of my time. In addition, I am currently taking graduate courses at The Wharton School. Last year, I participated in an annual program called Business Transformation for Senior Executives, and this year I am completing the CTO program.
Q. Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group Architecture Forum and what does/will your involvement look like?
I have just registered my company, Strategic Transformation SAC, as a Silver Member of The Open Group, part of the Architecture Forum.
With over four decades of experience in the technology sector, including more than 25 years in various architectural roles—such as enterprise, business, and solutions—I am excited about the opportunity to contribute and learn from professionals with more experience and knowledge than me.
I believe there is still much I can learn from being part of this important community.
Q. How has/will membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large?
The goal of partnering with The Open Group as an Accredited Training Provider (ATP) is to provide TOGAF Certified training in the Latin American market.
I believe there is still significant potential for development in this region. For my company, this training is a key service, complemented by additional training and consulting services in business architecture and the use of reference models, such as BIAN, specifically for the financial sector.
Q. Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?
I think it's essential for The Open Group community to grow to support one another, develop our skills, and share best practices in Enterprise Architecture.
This growth exemplifies the "network effect," where an increasing number of participants leads to more knowledge being generated and shared, ultimately benefiting everyone involved.
This dynamic serves as a continuous driver for the network's ongoing expansion.
Q. What are your hobbies?
- Reading materials (Strategy, Leadership, Digital/Business Transformation, Enterprise/Business Architecture, Quantum Physics, Cosmology, Astrophysics, etc.)
- Movies available on streaming platforms (Netflix, Apple TV, MAX, Amazon Prime, etc.)
- Family vacations and travels
Q. What book are you currently reading?
- “Twin Transformation” by Michael Wade & Konstantinos Trantopoulus (2025)
- “Practical Guide to Agile Strategy Execution” by Daniel Lambert (2025)
- “Agentic Artificial Intelligence” by Pascal Bornet (2025)
Q. What social networks do you belong to?
LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Tik Tok
Q. Any last thoughts?
I would like to congratulate The Open Group for the valuable work it has been doing over the years, particularly in unifying the various certifications within the Digital Portfolio initiative. This effort will undoubtedly benefit the entire community.
