The Open Group Announces Allen Brown Stepping Down as CEO and President
San Francisco, CA, July 21, 2015 – The Open Group, the leading vendor-neutral IT standards consortium, today announced that current CEO and President Allen Brown will step down in April 2016 after more than 20 years with the organization, including the last 17 as CEO. After conducting a process to choose his successor, The Open Group Governing Board has selected Steve Nunn as his replacement who will assume the role with effect from November of this year. Steve is the current COO of The Open Group and CEO of the Association of Enterprise Architects.
“Having led The Open Group since 1998 the time is right for the organization to transition to new leadership and I’m delighted that Steve Nunn will be the new CEO,” Allen Brown said. “The Open Group has a fantastic group of employees and members focused on achieving Boundaryless Information Flow™. Steve Nunn will take over the role at the end of October 2015. “The Open Group has a tremendous opportunity to shape the standards that can help solve our members business problems and I’m honored to be helping to lead that process,” Steve Nunn commented. “Allen has developed and grown the organization beyond all recognition in his time as CEO and I wish him the very best in his upcoming retirement.”
