The Open Group Releases the Future Airborne Capability Environment™ (FACE) Consortium Technical Standard Edition 3.0

San Francisco, CA – November 15, 2017 – Today The Open Group announced the release of Edition 3.0 of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Technical Standard.

Developed by The Open Group FACE™ Consortium, Edition 3.0 of the FACE Technical Standard focuses on improvements to enhance portability and interoperability.  Specific areas that were enhanced from the previous edition are:

  • Restructured the Technical Standard for readability
  • Added System Model Metadata Definition
  • Enhanced the Data Architecture
  • Integrated a Component Framework/Model
  • Enhanced and added Extensions to I/O
  • Included enhancements to
    • Configuration Services
    • TSS Interoperability
    • Graphics
    • Language Runtime
  • Added Lifecycle Management Services
  • Updated Interface Definition Language
