The Open Footprint® Forum comprises leading end user organizations from numerous industries, including technology, energy, retail, as well as ESG solution providers, cloud service providers, consulting firms, audit, and assurance firms.
Members of the Forum work collaboratively to develop requirements for the evolution of the data model. The requirements are derived from the various emerging regulations dealing with emissions as well as their specific business needs.
These requirements are addressed with data structures, metadata and entity relationship diagrams that are built into the Open Footprint Data Model.
The Forum is organized into a number of work groups dealing with requirements from regulatory and non-regulatory use cases, data modeling, technology implementation considerations, publications, and marketing, outreach, and third party standards organizations. Forum members maintain a roadmap of features planned for support in future releases of the data model. The members also coordinate user acceptance testing of new versions of the data model prior to release as new versions of the standard.
