Working Together to Balance Agility and Decision Making
A critical value of the OSDU Forum is to work openly and transparently. In decision making, all Members of the OSDU Forum are treated equally regardless of size or type. Each Member’s Focal Point should participate in the Forum decision making which is carried out using the OSDU Forum decision-making process. Members can maximize their influence by actively participating in areas relevant to their organization’s interest.

The OMC and The PMC
Members of the OSDU Forum are passionate about delivering releases in months, not years. To enable the required agility and rapid, pragmatic decision-making, the OSDU Focal Points voted to establish the OSDU Management Committee (OMC) and Project Management Committee (PMC), as well as the OMC charter and the PMC charter. These charters establish the basis of the OMC and PMC, the ways that they will work, and outline the responsibilities delegated by the Focal Points. The OMC and PMC are committed to be visible and available to all OSDU Forum stakeholders.
The OMC is committed to supporting this work and using this critical input to shape the future path of the OSDU Forum, such as expanding the scope of the OSDU Data Platform. The OMC will consider and recommend the best way forward, and bring this to the Focal Points for consideration, feedback, and final approval. Additionally, any OSDU Member can contribute to the work of the OMC’s seven themes, by reaching out to the OMC theme owners directly via Slack, attend relevant meetings and help work on the theme.
