Architecture Forum: Proposed Resolutions to Change Requests (Meeting 2 of 3)

(Tuesday, January 26)

Objective of Meeting

The main goal of the meeting was to discuss and define proposed resolutions for the change requests received during the second review round for the TOGAF® Framework volume, the Tools and Techniques related to the Content Metamodel topic, and also to discuss the TOGAF Guides delivery status.

Summary

The meeting started with a discussion about the approach for the guides' delivery and how to evolve them to become TOGAF Guides. Special attention was given to the ADM Method guide and a decision was taken to wait for the Conexian delivery and address the change requests submitted against the first review round. It was also agreed on the need to define a work plan for guides' delivery during the Thursday meeting.

The group then discussed and went over the change requests submitted against the Framework volume and Tools and Techniques related to the Content Metamodel topic.

Different opinions and views were shared about the Content Framework and Enterprise Metamodel subject but, since it was not possible to reach a consensus, the final decision was to put the material into Forum review for further analysis and then define a propose resolution during WebEx calls.

Outputs

  • Decisions about the TOGAF Guide series development.
  • A consent item to put the documents into Forum review for further assessment.

Next Steps

The group agreed the following steps and roadmap for the rest of the event week:

  • The spreadsheet will be updated on the Forum site.
  • We will continue on Wednesday with the Framework volume change requests assessment.
  • On Wednesday we will also decide what to do with the ADM Method guide, first review round and the content that Conexiam will provide.
  • On Wednesday we need to decide the next steps and to allocate only 30 minutes to the Security Forum joint meeting.
  • Judith’s CRs will be addressed in the morning on Wednesday since she could not attend the afternoon meeting.
  • Closer follow-up on other materials such as the work delivered by the Digital Business Model and Customer Experience Work Group so the output can be considered as part of the evolution of the standard.
