Technologies

CORDS - Communication Objects for Real-time Dependable Systems
GIPC - Real-time group communications protocol suite built using CORDS
SHAWS - a specialized server which uses the core protocol properties of GIPC, extended to provide fault resilient clustering properties for the Apache web server
MK7 - a full-function micro kernel based system which supports simultaneous Real-time and timesharing operation.
MK++ - a micro kernel which provides a single code base capable of supporting high assurance, scalability, real-time, distribution, SMP, fault handling and performance all built in an object-oriented B3 fashion that can be evaluated.
AD3 - a scalable, micro kernel-based system which allows scalability for SMP systems and multi-node distributed systems while retaining a single system image.
CONVERSANT - an active network node designed to defend against denial-of-service attacks developed as part of DARPA Active Networks program

Need help in developing highly-reliable trusted distributed systems?

The Advanced Research Group of The Open Group (formerly The Research Institute) provides a consulting and technology transfer resource specializing in commercial and government customers use of government-sponsored advanced technologies.

The Group seeks strategic relationships with customers requiring assured end-to-end IT system performance needs.

A successful team of experienced engineers with an  8 year plus track record of innovative solutions to the problems of high availability networks can assist customers with:

  • Quality of Service (QoS) requirements definition,

  • Joint design and trade- off studies,

  • Advanced development and pre-production test beds,

  • Acquisition and integration of commercial QoS related software, and

  • Development of QoS software required for effective end- to- end system QoS design and implementation.

Working closely with the Forums of The Open Group, and in particular the QoS Task Force, the Advanced Research Group can take advantage of emerging technology standards developed through the Forums whilst transferring key ideas through the forums to the commercial marketplace

As a result, customers of the Advanced Research Group enhance their ability to provide reliable processing of critical, high-value, time-urgent data in networked systems using commercial off-the-shelf components.
