Objectives

The Open Group aims to start a significant activity to promote and foster agent technology. The objectives of this meeting are to:

  • Review the requirements for Intelligent Agents, and the capabilities of Agent Technology to meet those requirements; and
  • Enable the movers and shakers to get together to plan how to develop their work within The Open Group.

The meeting is preceded by:

  • A conference plenary session on Future Technology and Enterprise Architecture - Agent Technologies, at 2:00 PM on Monday October 23rd; and
  • A session of Stream #1 of the conference on Scaling SOA - The Problem, at 9:00AM on Tuesday 24th.

11:00 Welcome and Introductions. Peter Evans-Greenwood, CTO (Australia), Capgemini and Meeting Chair.
11:15 The Need and the Technology
Presentation and discussion of a draft White Paper on Agent Technologies. This White Paper will set the content and direction of future work.
12:30 Lunch
14:00 Planning for the Future
This session will discuss the formation of an Open Group activity to foster and promote Agent Technology, and to identify, and where necessary define, appropriate frameworks and standards.
