Background

The conference starts with a Plenary Meeting on Monday, April 23rd, on the theme of "Enterprise Architecture – Driving Enterprise Transformation". This is followed on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 24th and 25th, by parallel conference streams, including a number of streams on SOA and related topics:

SOA and Enterprise Architecture;
Service-Oriented Infrastructure;
Web 3.0;
SOA Deployment;
SOA Frameworks and Standards; and
Semantic Interoperability.

Objectives

The SOA Working Group meeting is on Thursday and Friday, April 26th and 27th. Its aims are to:

Enable all conference attendees to find out about the Working Group and its work program;and
Progress that work program, and in particular make a major advance in its flagship SOA/TOGAF Practical Guide project.

Thursday April 26, 2007
09:00	SOA Working Group Open Meeting This interactive session, led by Open Group Forum Director Chris Harding, will: Review the current state and future directions of SOA; Explain the role and work program of the SOA Working Group; and Discuss input and feedback on that program.

11:00	SOA/TOGAF Practical Guide project meeting Chaired by project leader Dave Hornford, this and subsequent sessions will be devoted to progressing the development of The Open Group's Practical Guide to Developing Service-Oriented Architectures using TOGAF. A detailed agenda will appear later.	The Semantic Interoperability Working Group will hold an open meeting at this time, to consider the problem of semantic interoperability in the context of SOA.

14:00	SOA/TOGAF Practical Guide project meeting (Continued)	SOA and Security This joint session with The Open Group's Security Forum will review progress on the establishment of a project to develop guidance on security issues in SOA and the use of SOA to support de-perimiterization.
