UNIX® System Standardization -- Testing
The Open Group holds the UNIX System trademark in trust for the industry.
Conformance to the Single UNIX Specification is measured through
a family of test suites.
The test framework architecture utilizes the Open Group's
Test Environment Toolkit and the VSXgen framework. A summary of
the test suite architecture , is shown below:

VSX-PCTS - A verification
suite for assessing your systems conformance to ISO/IEC 9945-1 (POSIX®)/FIPS
151-2 - derived from the industry leading VSX4
verification suite , in response to industry demand The Open
Group provides a maintained ISO/IEC 9945-1 (POSIX) Conformance Test
Suite for free download. This is now available under an Open Source
(tm) Licence.

The
LSB-VSX Test Suite - A version of the VSX-PCTS test suite,
tuned to autoconfigure and test Linux systems for POSIX conformance.
This is being developed as part of the Linux Standard Base certitifation test
program.

VSC
lite Test Suite - A test suite for 77 commands and utilities
from POSIX 1003.2-1992. This is a lite version of the Open
Group's full VSC Commands and Utilities Test Suite (vsc)

VSTHlite
Test Suite - A test suite for a subset of pthreads
- POSIX 1003.1-1996 threads. This is a lite version of the
Open Group's full Threads Test Suite (vsth)

System
Header Checker - hdrchk is a development tool. It performs
a check on system headers for presence of function declarations,
macro definitions and structures as defined in various standards.
The standards supported by this tool are: FIPS 151-2, POSIX.1-1990,
POSIX.1-1996, XPG3, XPG4 and UNIX 98.
