FACE/SOSA EXPO TECHNICAL INTERCHANGE MEETING SEPT. 2020

The Open Group Announces a Collaborative FACE™ and SOSA™ Consortia Exposition & Technical Interchange Meeting in September 2020

Patuxent River, MD – May 6, 2020 - Based on the successful event held in the Fall of 2019, The Open Group FACE™ (Future Airborne Capability Environment) and SOSA™ (Sensor Open Systems Architecture) Consortia are continuing the plans for the 2020 Exposition and Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM), which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2020. The event, Sponsored by AdaCore, will be held at the Holiday Inn Solomons Conference Center, which is located near NAS (Naval Air Station) Patuxent River in Maryland.

The Open Group hopes to host this as a physical meeting in September 2020 in Solomons, Maryland. However, should COVID-19 remain a threat to safety and travel at that time, then the Expo & TIM (Technical Interchange Meeting) presentations, as well as the Consortia Members meetings, will shift to being virtual. The final decision will be made with the safety and wellness of our partners, Members, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees as our top priority.

Both The Open Group FACE and SOSA Consortia to be showcased will feature the extensive efforts that enable Modular Open Systems Approaches (MOSA) as specified by the U.S. Department of Defense for new systems development and modification of existing systems. The Expo & TIM will include other open standards such as HOST and CMOSS.

Over 50 companies, all part of growing Open Market Ecosystems, will demonstrate latest FACE Certified and aligned products to the FACE Technical Standard, and products developed to align with the SOSA Technical Standard Snapshot. The event will highlight the latest advances for what promises to be a uniquely valuable business and educational opportunity. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about new advancements in the development (and fielding) of applications and products for the services’ new war-fighting capabilities.

Attendees are invited to a full day of exhibits and demonstrations, as well as targeted topics presented from government, leading industry experts, and academia; including technical papers on the use of technical standards and business practices.

The Expo & TIM on September 22, 2020 is free to attend and open to all those who are interested in open standards, open architectures, and open innovation. Attendees must register in advance, no later than August 25, 2020. The event website with online registration is --www.expotim2020.com.

Following the Expo & TIM event, The Open Group FACE and SOSA Consortia Members will meet on September 23-25 at the same location for Members-only F2F meetings.
