- Chief Executive Officer, XMPro Inc.
How long have you been involved with The Open Group?
We joined the Open Subsurface Data Universe™ Forum in June 2019.
What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?
At XMPro, I lead a team of dedicated professionals who obsess over helping industrial companies manage their operations in real-time. We’ve created an Agile Application Studio that helps industrial customers build real-time applications to detect and respond to critical events as they happen. I started my career as a plant engineer and have since been involved with developing business performance management solutions for the past 15 years.
Why did your organization become a Member of Open Subsurface Data Universe Forum and what does your involvement look like?
We joined the OSDU Forum because we believe that subsurface data can be used to provide value to the rest of the organization, especially in the areas of maintenance and operations.
How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization, and the industry at large?
By developing a standard data platform for the oil and gas industry, the OSDU has made subsurface data more accessible to be used in a variety of applications. This not only improves the quality of solutions but also reduces the cost of ownership.
What contributions do you hope to bring to The Open Group?
Our goal is to assist OSDU members by creating awareness about the different applications of subsurface data.
Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?
We believe that a rising tide lifts all boats. The more oil and gas companies join this initiative, the better results we can deliver for everyone involved.
What are your hobbies?
Triathlon
What book are you currently reading?
Factfulness by Anna Rosling Rönnlund, Hans Rosling, and Ola Rosling

Any last thoughts?
The OSDU data platform is a great example for other industries of how competitors can collaborate to solve shared challenges. Even though each organization may have its own goals, this initiative makes it possible for us to work together to move oil and gas industry into the digital era.
