Berlin, Germany – April 24, 2017 – Today, The Open Group vendor-neutral IT consortium has launched the ArchiMate® 3.0 Tool Certification. This latest addition to The Open Group Architecture Tool Certification Program now supports the ArchiMate® 3.0 Specification, an Open Group Standard. The certification process for ArchiMate modelling tools provides an independent assessment of the tool’s compliance with the detailed conformance requirements.
Tool vendors planning a conformant implementation of the ArchiMate 3.0 Specification can use the Program to demonstrate their compliance. End-user organizations seeking or evaluating tools for ArchiMate language modelling can use the Program to identify candidate products.

The Open Group launched ArchiMate 3.0 in July 2016 as the first major update to the ArchiMate language since the 2.1 Specification was published in 2013. New features include elements for modelling the enterprise at a strategic level, such as capability, resource and outcome; and support for modelling the physical world of materials, equipment, facilities and distribution networks. Furthermore, the usability, consistency and structure of the language are improved, and definitions are better aligned with other standards such as the TOGAF® framework, BPMN™ and UML®.
