How long have you been involved with The Open Group? I am new to The Open Group having recently joined the Security Forum.

What do you do, and how long have you been doing it? I work across many areas within Cyber Security and Data Protection, having worked in the industry for over 15 years I’ve worked in a number of areas.  I have consulted and held security leadership roles on global application development programmes, built consulting practices and 24x7 Security Operations Centres.

Why did your organization become a Member of The Open Group Security Forum and what does/will your involvement look like? We’ve recently joined as having had an awareness of The Open Group for a while, we wanted to align ourselves formally and start introducing our consultants to the methodologies who in time maybe able to also become active contributors. We have a wealth of experience across Cyber Security both from a technical and compliance framework perspective, so I really think we can add a great deal.

How has membership in The Open Group benefit you, your organization, and the industry at large? Not had too much exposure at this stage.

Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group? I think each organisation will have different reasons but it think it can enable organisations to interact with peers, contribute themselves and align themselves to a recognised set of artefacts that can underpin some of the work they perform.

What are your hobbies? I am in the fortunate position where my job is also a hobby, so I love learning but outside of work I really enjoy spending time with my family, boxing, walking and more recently paddle boarding

What book are you currently reading? The Unicorn Project, having read the Phoenix Project I am onto the following booking regarding DevOps practices, very good read and would also recommend the audible versions too.

What social networks do you belong to? All the main ones really, Facebook and Instagram are mainly personal ones but then I use Twitter, LinkedIn and Peerlyst (although this is closing down, which is a shame)

Any last thoughts? I’d just like to say that we are new to The Open Group but are really excited about the next 12 months and getting to understand more about the community and how things operate.
