Q: How long have you been involved with The Open Group Open Process Automation™ Forum? Since its formation in November 2016Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it? I am the Global Account Manager of the ExxonMobil account with a focus on Process Automation.
Q: Why did your organization become a member of The Open Group Open Process Automation™ Forum and what does your involvement look like? We believe in open systems and wanted to be on the forefront of the development of new standards. We are actively engaged in the Forum with many of our employees in key positions and committees. Don Bartusiak (ExxonMobil) and myself are co-chairs of the Forum.
Q: How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization and the industry at large? It has allowed us to provide our input into the future open process automation system and has helped understand the end user’s needs. It has also provided visibility to our company as a thought leader in the industryQ: What contributions do you hope to bring to Forum? Our many years of experience in designing and implementing open control systems
Q: Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group? For end users it is important for their voice to be heard so that the new systems are usable by them. For vendors like us, it is important to be a part of the standards process and have our voice heard.
Q: What are your hobbies? Woodworking and travel
Q: What book are you currently reading? Mainly fiction
Q. What social networks do you belong to? Facebook and LinkedIn
Q: Any last thoughts? We believe that open systems are going to provide value to both end users and vendors and they will allow new solutions and technology that will drive more value to the bottom line of everyone
