Masateru Awatsu is Head of Software Open Innovation Business Unit within Fujitsu Limited’s Global Delivery Business Group. Masateru has worked for Fujitsu since 1992, beginning in the system integration business in the telecommunications industry. He worked on technology standardization of system integration in 2004. In 2018, he was made Vice Head of the Digital Co-Creation Project in the Fujitsu Laboratory with the aim of driving digital business with advanced technology through customer co-creation.
In 2022, he was appointed to Deputy Head of the Uvance Core Technology Unit to contribute to Fujitsu’s Uvance business to solve social issues with advanced technology.
In 2023, he was appointed to his current position as Head of Software Open Innovation Business Unit, where he oversees the middleware business that supports the stable operation of social systems, while promoting workstyle transformation in software development through the utilization of generative AI and other advanced technologies.
