The Open Group to Host a Global Virtual Enterprise Architecture for Sustainability Event

 

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 5th, 2023: The Open Group, the vendor-neutral technology standards organization, is hosting its upcoming global virtual event January 31 - February 1, 2023. The event will bring together subject matter experts from around the globe to discuss how Enterprise Architecture (EA) can contribute towards a greener future by building resilient infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.

Prior to the event kicking off on Tuesday, The Open Group will also host a TOGAF® User Group where attendees will learn how to use the TOGAF® Standard and how to adapt it to fulfill specific needs. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss key developments in the standard with some of the experts behind its evolution, and examine how they will impact businesses in the agile and digital environment.

On Tuesday, Paul Homan, Distinguished Engineer at IBM, will discuss how Enterprise Architects can reduce, reuse, and recycle when developing IT solutions in their organizations and across the ecosystems with sustainability efforts in mind. Attendees will also hear from Sammy Lakshmanan, Principal, Environmental Social & Governance at PwC, about aligning on the common GHG data model, and from Phil Tetlow, CTO Data Ecosystems at IBM, about what a sustainable ecosystem means in order to model and analyze its behavior.

Wednesday’s talks will continue to focus on EA for Sustainability as Leslie Robinet, Services Director at MEGA International, will discuss overcoming legacy in a sustainable digital transformation. Attendees will also learn from Abhijit Sunil, Senior Analyst at Forrester, five key ways in which Enterprise Architects can contribute to the sustainability agenda of an organization. The day will conclude with a Data Science workshop led by IBM’s Chief Analytics Officer & Marketing Intelligence Professional Maureen Norton, and Data Scientist Neeraj Madan.
